I had the same consequence with this volume as I had with the first. The mystery attribute was very well done. It held my involvement throughout. Information technology had good twists and turns. And it kept me guessing right upwardly to the end. It had a good cast of secondary characters. The sex scenes were spicy (even if I hated Wes). I even managed to similar Claire a lot more than in this book.

I had the same event with this volume as I had with the first. The mystery aspect was very well done. It held my interest throughout. It had good twists and turns. And it kept me guessing right up to the finish. Information technology had a good cast of secondary characters. The sex scenes were spicy (even if I hated Wes). I even managed to like Claire a lot more in this book.
That said, once again the romance aspect was utter crap. I loathe Wes. The volume opens with the states (and Claire) finding out he cheated by letting a stripper rub all over him during a lapdance while he groped her and had his tongue down her throat. We so have to go back in time 48 hours and read sex activity scenes between Claire and Wes, all the while knowing what he did. And do not even get me started at the lame alibi given that the stripper kissed everyone at the bachelor party (and by the way, I am not talking a peek on the lips. He was total-on playing tonsil hockey with her) so it wasn't cheating since anybody did it? Hate to break this to you writer, just sticking your tongue down someone's throat and groping them when yous are in a relationship, stripper or not, is the very definition of cheating...sigh.
Plus, the entire incident merely gets swept nether the rug like it was no big deal. Wes gets mad and claims "he did zilch wrong," Claire'due south blood brother says Wes did zippo incorrect. Claire herself apologizes for misunderstanding, like making out with a stripper isn't cheating because everyone else made out with her?? <--- I literally can't even. Why all that even needed to be added to this book is a mystery to me. Information technology added nothing, and the book already focused Manner too much on Wes's past sexual activity life, to begin with. Unfortunately, I won't be reading any more books in this serial because of the over the peak relationship malaise.
For those interested here is the scene that everyone claimed WAS NOT cheating... (view spoiler)[I shuffle the pictures sliding the meridian ane to the dorsum of the stack so that I tin see the next one. This one is zoomed in. His head is tipped back and his face is distorted with both lust and passion as she straddles his lap. Her easily hold his to her breasts and I can see the play of tendons flexing through them as he grips them tight. It was but two nights agone that his easily were on my own breasts in much the aforementioned way as I rode his cock on the sofa. "Claire, did you hear me?" he asks simply I shuffle the stack again. In this movie, he has his arms wrapped around her dorsum and he'due south pulling her close, her breasts mashed up against his strong chest. Her hands with long, red painted talons printing in on either side of his face and as they kiss hungrily, their mouths open equally their tongues tangle. (hide spoiler)]
Then basically all three stars for this one are because of the mystery attribute. This could take been a five-star read had the writer toned downwards the drama llama relationship angst. It wasn't needed. Information technology added zilch practiced to the story. In fact, for me, it took a lot away from the story. And, considering of that, this author has lost me equally a reader (of this serial in whatever case). I am kind of bummed out past that, just what can y'all do? Information technology is what it is. Life is too short to waste it on books that exit you frustrated.
Wes and Claire are dorsum and their current case is one that hits a little to close to home. Wes doesn't disappoint with his Alpha-ness....it'south alive and strong!!! Claire continues to rock her job as a detective simply is this instance going to be the i to break her?
Ms. Rebecca brings united states of america another instance and crime that will test the limits of our heroine. Now, can I have the next book....like now????? I can't wait for more!!!!

This isn't your typical indie romance novel. To be honest, it actually reminds me of a romance novel published past a big fourth dimension publisher like Penguin or Harper Collins. It's a second in a series, just can be read as a standalone. I'm not certain how to really describe what this volume felt like to me while reading, just that perchance it felt a bit more than... sophisticated that what I'thou used to reading. That's non to say the sexual activity scenes aren't what you'd detect in a typical indie romance novel, considering they totally are. They're totally hot and very well written. I estimate it's just that along with the sex and the relationship trouble, there was a lot to the story likewise.
The synopsis drew me in when it said that girls were being murdered and posed like dolls. And while I had a good feeling I knew who the murderer was (I was right), I was never absolutely certain. Jennifer Rebecca does a practiced job of creating doubt when it comes to solving the case.
This book also reminded me a lot of NCIS. Especially with the look into the morgue. Emma reminds me of Abby from NCIS. Read information technology and tell me I'm wrong.
There'due south also a second "story" that's happening along with the present instance. Claire keeps having dreams that are flashbacks to when she was kidnapped as a little daughter. I experience similar this function of the book was kind of left open up-ended, which I guess information technology was meant to be, because they never caught her kidnapper. But, I would take loved to read more about her time with the kidnapper and how she escaped.
I volition definitely be reading more of this series. I dearest Volition and Claire, because they are meant to exist together forever.

Nosotros are still being teased with the major story arc of who kidnapped Clair as a child and I am DYING to know who could behind everything. I feel like there are then many people hiding in plain sight that are non up to good things.
Wes and Liam still are grating on my nerves with their need to always protect Clair. I feel like she has a better grasp on things than they realize. At least when she is awake and not having nightmares sucking her back into her horrible by.
I tin't wait to see what else Jennifer Rebecca has in store for us subsequently reading Tuck Me in Tight!

Ive come to it from feeling the same virtually book one and honestly my expectations were a little on the low side anyway.
As far as the story goes, it's fairly decent. BUT it's way to obvious whodunit and to be quite honest there were a few times i was left gawking at how shit the GWPD are at policing.

The sex is hot, i like Liam and Wes' relstionship and their devotion to Claire, it'southward well written and I'm thinking i desire to observe out what happens next.

Enjoyable, anticipated but if you roll with it it's worth the read. Claire Goodnite is a bit immature just it doesn't take away from the book. I establish her worse in this book than the 1st then hopefully the next one doesn't have her acting like more of a teenager than she does when she's almost 30.
